How to Register

Enrolling is easy, especially for Bank of America® customers. Just complete a one-time registration of your email address and/or mobile number through Online or Mobile Banking.1 drive to footnote module

  1. After signing in to OnlineMobile Banking, click the Transfers tab.
  2. Click Send Money to Someone then choose Add/Edit Your Email/Mobile # .

  4. Enter your email address or mobile number, select your deposit account and click Continue.
  5. An enrollment code will be sent to you via email or text. Enter the code and click Continue.

And just like that, you’re good to go. Now virtually anyone with a US bank account can transfer money directly to your account using the email address or mobile number that you registered — no need to share your account info. When you receive a transfer, you’ll be notified via email or text.

How to Send Money

Easily and securely send money to virtually anyone with a US bank account using their email address or mobile number.

To make a transfer to someone else:

  1. After signing in to Mobile Banking, click Transfers.
  2. Click Add/Edit Recipients then Add New Recipient Using email or mobile number.
  3. Verify your identity by filling out your Bank of America card information then click Done.
  4. After filling out your recipient’s info, click Add Recipient. This info will be saved for future transfers.
  5. When you’re ready to transfer money, select your recipient and enter the amount. After making sure everything looks good, click Make transfer.
  1. After signing in to Online Banking, locate the Transfers tab.
  2. In the Send Money To Someone drop down, select Using their email address or mobile number.
  3. Click Add email or mobile recipient, and after filling out your recipient’s info and answering a security question, click Add Recipient. This info will be saved for future transfers.
  4. When you’re ready to transfer money, select your recipient and enter the amount. After making sure everything looks good, click Make transfer.

Your recipient will then receive a notification when the money has been sent. If the recipient is already registered, the money will be directly deposited into their account. If not, the recipient will need to complete the one-time registration process to receive their funds through their bank or with clearXchange.

FAQs

1. What should my recipient expect when I send money?

If the recipient has previously registered for online transfers, the money will be deposited into their account without any further action by the recipient. If not, the recipient will need to register with their participating bank or with clearXchange to receive the funds.

2. How do I receive money using an email address or mobile number?

To receive money, you'll need to complete a one–time registration process in Online or Mobile Banking. Once registration is complete, any money sent to you will be deposited directly into your account.

3. How much money can I send?

You can send up to $2,500 per day and up to $10,000 per week.

4. What is clearXchange?

clearXchange is a company that allows bank customers to send person-to-person (P2P) payments easily and securely. If the recipient of the funds does not enroll within 14 days, the transaction will be canceled and you will be notified. Learn more.

5. Can I send money to friends and family who are not Bank of America customers?

Yes, as long as their bank account is within the United States.
